  2. Hi Gerald,
Regarding Lieutenant D G Farrow, I found him on the Royal Navy List for 1943 ,with HMS/MGB57. He is also on the Navy Reserve List September 7 1943 as a Temporary Lieutenant.
I found this information from Ancestry.uk. I did not have enough details to find him on a census.

    Regards Barbara

My father was awarded Victor Ludorum from Garw in, I’m estimating, the 20’s. I remember the trophy well and I believe he kept it up until his death, but it was lost to us (myself and my sister) through personal circumstances. I would love to trace the details of this award through yourselves if possible. Are you able to help? If not, do you know of anyone who can?
    Many thanks,
    Mrs Hill

  4. My mothers uncle was William Thomas Gould who lived in Pontycummer and enlisted in Bridgend at the outset of WW1. He was KIA on February 27, 1917
in the Salonika campaign. He was shipped to France expecting to be heading to the Somme, instead found himself directed through Marsailles, Cairo and on to
Salonika. My connections to the Garw are through people who have lived in Pontycummer, Blaengarw, Bettws, Pontyrhyl, Llangeinor with family names such as
Gould, Millard and Stock. Myself, I attended Garw Grammar School from 1954 to 1958 and have good memories of many classmates. I was part of the caravan of buses that travelled from Cornelly, Pyle, Kenfig Hill, Cefn Cribwr, Aberkenfig and Tondu. A slow hours run morning and night.

I am living in Canada but would love to hear from any former classmates who can email me on exiles2@hotmail.com
    David George from Kenfig Hill.
