Llangeinor Show Success

The Heritage Society showed off the new banners we have purchased and these proved useful in attracting comments and developing further queries from visitors. Being in the cafe at the Richard Price Centre helped the attendance and we had over 40 visitors, including 4 from the Netherlands.

Local people were a great help in identifying names on various pictures we displayed and our thanks are due to Barbara Brooks of the Society for kindly donating a folder of Llangeinor photographs. These were a hit with the visitors and improved our archive coverage of the area considerably. Sales of our wares have started to improve and several people offered further archive material – for which we are most grateful. We will follow up all the various enquiries as soon as we can. A fascinating feature of these exhibitions is the number of stories that come out about local events and people in past years. Material which is invaluable in helping to create a picture of the past.

Thanks to all the Members who contributed to a very successful day,  and our appreciation is due to the staff of the Centre for their organisation on the day.
