As part of the country-wide commemmorations to mark the start of the First World War, the GVHS has arranged exhibitions of posters, photographs, artefacts and medals, including personal letters and stories of those who went from the Garw to serve in the war.
Exhibitions have been held in Bettws, Bryngarw House, Braich-y-Cymer and Pontycymer, and the dates for the Autumn will be September 24th-26th at the Richard price Centre, and Blaengarw Hall on October 15th to 17th. Ynysawdre School are also hosting it on September 29th for 1 week. Remember we have a booklet to accompany the displays, concentrating on Garw people during the war years.
